StarTimes Uganda Premier League – Matchday 15
Venue: MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo
Kick-off: Friday, January 30, 2026 – 8:00 PM (EAT)

Entebbe UPPC FC return to league action on Friday night with a stern test away to KCCA FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, as the Printers look to extend their impressive unbeaten run in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Our momentum was momentarily checked last time out by a goalless draw against Maroons FC at Home, bringing an end to a four-match winning streak. However, that result still stretched our unbeaten sequence to seven matches, underlining the consistency and resilience that has defined our campaign so far.

Now, under the Lugogo lights, the challenge intensifies.

Form Guide

The Printers head into Matchday 15 firmly established among the league’s most in-form sides. A run of strong performances has lifted the club into the top five, with defensive solidity and efficiency in transition becoming hallmarks of Abdallah Mubiru’s side.

A positive result in Kampala would further reinforce the club’s growing maturity, particularly away from home, where performances this season have been among the best in the division.

KCCA FC, meanwhile, remain one of Ugandan football’s most recognisable institutions. While the Kasasiro Boys have endured a mixed campaign by their own lofty standards, their home form has been formidable and continues to anchor their ambitions.

KCCA’s strength at Lugogo is well documented. In seven home fixtures this season, they have registered six wins and one draw, scoring freely while thriving under the unique intensity of night football at the MTN Omondi Stadium. Their approach is built around territorial dominance, aggressive pressing, and quick wide rotations designed to overwhelm visiting sides.

Conversely, Entebbe UPPC have cultivated a reputation as the league’s most dangerous travellers. Under Mubiru, the Printers have developed a clear “travelling identity” rooted in defensive organisation, discipline, and surgical counter-attacking. An unbeaten away record of four wins and two draws makes UPPC the sternest visiting test KCCA have faced so far this season.

Tactical Focus: The Battle for the Final Third

Much of the narrative surrounding this fixture centres on the duel between two of the league’s most influential forwards.

Ivan Ahimbisibwe – KCCA FC

Ahimbisibwe has emerged as the focal point of KCCA’s attacking structure. Beyond his five-goal tally, he functions as the tactical pivot in Brian Ssenyondo’s 4-3-3 system, dropping deep to link play and create space for runners from wide areas.

His all-round performance in the recent 4–0 victory over UPDF FC highlighted his importance, as his hold-up play and awareness helped dismantle a compact defence. Against UPPC, his task will be to unsettle a physically imposing central defensive partnership marshalled by captain Musitafa Mujuzi alongside Ahmed Amayo.

Ambrose Kigozi – Entebbe UPPC FC

Standing opposite him is the league’s leading scorer, Ambrose Kigozi, who arrives in Lugogo with seven goals to his name. Kigozi’s effectiveness lies in his explosive movement, intelligent positioning, and ruthless execution during transition phases.

In Mubiru’s counter-attacking setup, Kigozi often operates in isolation, pinning centre-backs and exploiting space created by quick switches of play or direct distribution from goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa. For a KCCA defence that has occasionally shown vulnerability against pace, Kigozi remains a constant and decisive threat.

The Great Wall of Entebbe

While Kigozi provides the cutting edge, UPPC’s rise has been built on a defensive platform that ranks among the league’s elite. The Printers head into this fixture on a run of four consecutive clean sheets and have not conceded a league goal in over 360 minutes.

At the heart of this resurgence is goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa, who sits second in the league for clean sheets with six shutouts in 13 appearances. His commanding presence and shot-stopping ability have repeatedly preserved crucial points, most notably in the recent victory over UPDF FC.

In front of him, the Mujuzi–Amayo partnership has delivered a level of cohesion, physicality, and aerial dominance that has made UPPC one of the hardest sides to break down in the league.

The Mubiru Factor

Friday’s contest carries additional intrigue with Abdallah Mubiru returning to familiar territory. The UPPC head coach knows the demands and pressures of Lugogo intimately, having previously managed KCCA FC.

That insight is likely to shape the Printers’ tactical approach, particularly in nullifying KCCA’s wide threats. Expect UPPC to double up in wide areas and funnel play into congested central zones, forcing the hosts to find solutions through traffic.

Ssenyondo’s Reset
KCCA head coach Brian Ssenyondo has spoken openly about the need for balance following a brief dip in form earlier this month. His emphasis on combining possession with clinical execution was evident in the emphatic win over UPDF.

Against a side that has not conceded in four matches, Ssenyondo’s challenge will be committing numbers forward without exposing his defence to UPPC’s devastating transitions.
