MATCH PREVIEW: StarTimes Uganda Premier League | Matchday 9

Entebbe UPPC FC return to league action today with a stern test against high-flying BUL FC, as the Printers seek to establish consistency in the 2026/27 StarTimes Uganda Premier League campaign.

The encounter presents an opportunity for the Printers to close the gap on the league’s leading sides, with BUL FC currently occupying first place on 19 points from seven matches, while Entebbe UPPC FC sit on 15 after eight outings.

Beyond maintaining that solidity, the immediate objective is to translate promising performances and positive results into sustained consistency.

The Printers have not registered consecutive league victories since their opening-day triumph over defending champions Vipers FC and UPDF and will be eager to break that pattern against BUL FC.

Today’s fixture therefore offers an important opportunity to demonstrate their ability to build on positive results and sustain momentum against one of the division’s most in-form sides.

A Formidable Opponent

BUL FC arrive in impressive form, having established themselves among the league’s strongest performers this season. With a game in hand and 19 points already accumulated, the Eastern Giants will be keen to maintain their strong start and consolidate their position at the summit.

However, the Printers have reasons to approach the contest with confidence, having deployed a near airtight defense this season with 6 clean sheets from the 8 outings.

Last Season’s Dominance

Entebbe UPPC FC claimed maximum points in both league meetings against BUL FC during the 2025/26 campaign.

The first encounter saw the Printers register a commanding 2-0 away victory, with Ambrose scoring both goals. The return fixture at home was even more emphatic, as UPPC FC cruised to a 4-0 victory in the final league match of the season.

Those results provide encouraging historical context, although today’s encounter presents an entirely different challenge against an opponent enjoying a particularly strong run of form.

TEAM NEWS

Entebbe UPPC FC will head into the encounter without several players.

Barni Tar Kelvin is unavailable due to the terms of his loan agreement with the club, having joined the Printers from BUL FC.

Moro Swadik has yet to recover from illness, while Hassan Ssenyonjo remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from a knock.

Isat also remains sidelined, alongside Kawawa, who continues his long-term recovery.

The Task Ahead

With the league campaign beginning to take shape, every point carries increasing significance. Against an opponent in excellent form, the Printers will need concentration, discipline and clinical execution to secure a positive result.
