Entebbe UPPC FC made a dream start to the 2026\/27 Uganda Premier League season, defeating defending champions Vipers SC 1\u20130 at St. Mary\u2019s Stadium, Kitende.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victory marked a historic milestone for The Printers, who secured their first competitive win over Vipers and scored against the champions for the first time in a competitive fixture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having sharpened their preparations through the FUFA Super 8 and other pre-season matches, UPPC approached the season opener with confidence, while Vipers came into the encounter having recently featured in the CECAFA Kagame Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hosts started brightly, creating early opportunities through Mulongo and Chukuma, but UPPC remained composed and gradually grew into the contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Printers created their first notable opening through Ibrahim Orit, who received a through ball from Kokolo Reich Triomphe, only for his effort from the left side to be blocked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UPPC broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute. Thomas Ochungo delivered a dangerous cross into the Vipers penalty area, and in attempting to clear the ball, Dasylva inadvertently turned it into his own net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We came close to doubling the advantage when the Vipers goalkeeper failed to deal cleanly with Kokolo’s effort, but Orit was unable to capitalise on the loose ball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second half remained tightly contested, with Vipers searching for an equaliser while The Printers defended their advantage with discipline and determination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
