We earned a hard-fought point away from home after playing out a goalless draw with NEC FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coach Abdallah handed starts to four of the club\u2019s five February signings as the visitors looked to return to winning ways. Eric Ssenjobe, Laban Tibiita, Abraham Tusubira and Sadik were all included in the starting XI, while Amayo and Kawawa remained sidelined through injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UPPC lined up with Omedwa in goal<\/strong>, protected by a backline of Odongo, Ssenjobe, Mujuzi and Kiryowa<\/strong>. Tusubira and Bugembe<\/strong> anchored the midfield with Tibiita<\/strong> operating further forward, while Munguchi, Sadik and Kigozi<\/strong> led the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visitors began brightly and immediately took the initiative, pushing NEC deep into their own half during an energetic opening spell. UPPC created early pressure through the attacking trio of Sadik, Kigozi and Munguchi<\/strong>, whose movement and pressing unsettled the hosts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite enjoying territorial advantage for much of the opening 35 minutes, clear chances were limited as NEC\u2019s defense held firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UPPC suffered a setback just before halftime when Eric Ssenjobe<\/strong> was forced off with a suspected muscle injury and could not continue, prompting an early reshuffle at the back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second Half<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

NEC emerged from the break with greater intensity and began to assert themselves in the contest, seeing more of the ball and committing numbers forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, Coach Abdallah introduced fresh legs midway through the second half, making a quadruple substitution. Poloto, Kyeyune, Fazil and Ssenyonjo<\/strong> replaced Tibiita, Tusubira, Sadik and Kigozi<\/strong> as UPPC looked to regain control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hosts continued to apply pressure, but UPPC\u2019s defensive unit stood firm, showing discipline and organization to repel the waves of NEC attacks. The backline, marshalled well despite Ssenjobe\u2019s early exit, ensured that goalkeeper Omedwa was rarely seriously tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a tense closing period, neither side could find the breakthrough, and the match ended in a stalemate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result sees Entebbe UPPC FC move to 36 points<\/strong>, maintaining 5th place<\/strong> on the league table and remaining eight points behind the leaders<\/strong> as the season enters its decisive phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
