We travelled to Kamwenge well aware that Mbarara City FC<\/strong>, keen to turn their season around, would come out with intensity and urgency. The Printers prepared for exactly that \u2014 and delivered a resilient performance to return home with a valuable point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Half<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Under clear afternoon skies and in front of an energetic home crowd, both sides began cautiously. By the 10th minute, the Ankole Lions had grown into the game, threatening with crosses and long balls aimed into our penalty area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the slow start, we responded with chances of our own. Kawawa<\/strong>, Kigozi<\/strong>, and Munguchi<\/strong> all had opportunities but were unable to convert. It was a fairly even half, with both teams creating promising moments yet unable to break the deadlock before the interval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second Half<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We made two early changes to inject more attacking spark, with Kokas<\/strong> replacing Kawawa and Poloto<\/strong> coming on for Kyeyune 11 minutes into the half. The hosts continued to push forward, forcing several defensive interventions \u2014 including heroic blocks from Amayo<\/strong> and Mujuzi<\/strong>, and composed goalkeeping from Omedwa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In one of our best attacking moments, Odongo delivered a trademark cross to the far post, finding Kokas unmarked, but he mistimed his attempt. Moments later, Poloto signaled discomfort<\/strong> and had to be withdrawn only five minutes after coming on, with Noordin Sadick Bunjo<\/strong> stepping in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Goals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The breakthrough eventually fell to the hosts. Muhammad Kanyike<\/strong> fired a low shot from just outside the box, threading it into the bottom right corner through a crowd of defenders to put Mbarara City ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But our response was instant. Ssenyonjo<\/strong> won possession in midfield with his trademark tenacity, slid a perfectly weighted through ball to Kigozi<\/strong>, and our in-form forward hammered his effort off the underside of the crossbar and into the net \u2014 a powerful finish at the near post to bring us level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
