Works Sports Grounds, Entebbe, January 5, 2025:<\/strong> A thrilling encounter unfolded at the Works Sports Grounds as Gaddafi FC cruised to a commanding 3-0 victory over Booma FC, solidifying their position at the top of the FUFA table.
The match kicked off under clear skies, with Andrew Ssekandi stepping in for the suspended Ssekeba in goal. Mbula, Sseninde, and Lubowa retained their places in the starting XI, ensuring continuity in Gaddafi\u2019s attacking setup.
Booma FC started strongly, pushing for an early lead, but Ssekandi was in inspired form. In the 22nd minute, he preserved parity with a crucial one-on-one save, expertly reading the attacker\u2019s intent to chip the ball. Moments later, Enzama\u2019s involvement was cut short after a clash of heads left him with a cut above the eye. Duncan Ssemakula replaced him, and Gaddafi intensified their offensive efforts.
The breakthrough came in first-half stoppage time. Kawawa whipped in a precise cross from the mid-left, and Mbula was on hand to tap it in, sending the home crowd into raptures just before the halftime whistle.
The second half resumed with both teams unchanged. In the 55th minute, Ssekandi turned provider with a long pinpoint ball over the top. Mbula showcased his pace and composure, shrugging off his marker before slotting past the keeper to double the lead.
Substitute Davis Kasirye added the icing on the cake in the 77th minute. Lubowa threaded a perfectly timed through ball to Kasirye, who broke free and collectedly finished to make it 3-0. Lubowa himself came close to adding to the tally, striking the woodwork and missing another opportunity in quick succession.
This victory takes Gaddafi FC to 26 points, still tied with Blacks Power, who also secured a win against Ntugasaze. With Mbula leading the scoring charts at five goals and Kawawa topping the assist tally with 4, Gaddafi FC\u2019s form continues to impress.
