MATCH REPORT: StarTimes Uganda Premier League | Matchday 8 | 28 October 2026

Entebbe UPPC FC and Maroons FC played out a goalless draw at HAMZ Stadium, Nakivubo, on Wednesday, as the two sides settled for a point apiece in their Matchday Eight encounter in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

It was the third consecutive meeting between the two sides to end without a goal, with neither team finding the breakthrough in a closely contested encounter characterised by very limited clear-cut scoring opportunities.

A Tight Contest with Few Chances

The Printers created the game’s clearest opportunity as early as the sixth minute. Emayu delivered a dangerous aerial ball into the box, which Munguchi, deployed as a makeshift striker ahead of Kigozi, glanced narrowly wide.

That effort proved the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock in a match where clear scoring opportunities were few and far between.

Maroons remained compact and disciplined defensively, limiting Entebbe UPPC FC’s ability to play through balls into dangerous areas. The visitors also worked hard to restrict Kokolo’s influence, denying the forward the space he typically needs to trouble opposing defences.

Second-Half Changes Bring Fresh Energy

Entebbe UPPC FC made tactical adjustments after the interval in search of a breakthrough, introducing Kigozi for Munguchi just after the start of the second half.

Further changes followed, with Poloto replacing Emayu before Ntege came on for Mugulusi as the technical team sought to inject fresh energy forward. Despite the changes and the Printers’ efforts to push forward, Maroons maintained their defensive organisation, ensuring that neither side could find the decisive goal.

Post-Match Reaction: Thomas Reflects on Maroons Draw

Thomas Ochungo admitted the boys were disappointed not to collect maximum points but were grateful to come away with a point, thanking God for the result. He praised his teammates for putting up a good performance despite the outcome and expressed his determination to build on it.

On being named Man of the Match, he said, motivates him to work harder and gives him extra energy ahead of Saturday’s clash against BUL FC. Thomas also thanked the UPPC fans and the UPPC fraternity for recognising his efforts and continued support.

Focus Shifts to BUL FC

The Printers now turn their attention to Matchday 9, when they travel to Njeru to face BUL FC at the Njeru Technical Centre Stadium.

BUL present a formidable challenge, having collected 19 points from their opening fixtures while remaining unbeaten. They have won all but one of their matches, with that solitary draw making them one of the league’s most consistent sides so far. They also have a game in hand.

Entebbe UPPC FC will look to regroup, sharpen their attacking play and deliver a strong performance against an in-form opponent as the league campaign continues.
