Entebbe UPPC FC return to the Fisheries Training Institute Ground on Saturday as we host record champions SC Villa in a crucial StarTimes Uganda Premier League Matchday 21 encounter.

With the league entering an important stage of the season, the stakes are even higher. We currently sit 5th on the table with 36 points, just two points behind SC Villa, making Saturday’s showdown a direct battle between two sides pushing to strengthen their position in the top half of the standings.

A Direct Contest Near the Top

Saturday’s match carries added significance given the current league standings. Sitting two points behind SC Villa, a victory would allow us to leapfrog the Joggos in the table and further strengthen our push in the league.

The squad has shown encouraging performances in recent matches, but the focus now shifts to converting those displays into victories as the season progresses.

Building Momentum

We head into the match following a disciplined 0–0 draw away to NEC FC earlier this week at the MTN Omondi Stadium. The result demonstrated the team’s resilience, especially with several new signings making their first starts for the club.

Eric Ssenjobe, Laban Tibiita, Abraham Tusubira and Sadik were all named in the starting lineup as the new arrivals began integrating into the team. The defensive unit showed strong organization to keep a clean sheet against a dangerous NEC side.

The evening was not without concern, however, as Ssenjobe was forced off shortly before halftime with a muscle problem. The technical team will continue monitoring his condition ahead of the clash.

Home Ground Advantage

Returning to the Fisheries Training Institute Ground gives us an opportunity to respond in front of our supporters. The players will be eager to build on the defensive solidity shown in recent matches while being more clinical in the final third.

With the margins in the league so tight, every point is vital — and Saturday presents a chance to make a strong statement against one of the country’s most historic clubs.
