Match Day 13, StarTimes Uganda Premier League | Wednesday January 21st 2026 | Kick-off: 4:00pm
Our away-day odyssey continues on Wednesday afternoon as we look to make it four league wins on the bounce when we travel to Bombo Barracks Ground to face UPDF FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
We return to league action full of confidence following a hard-fought 1–0 victory over URA FC at Hamz Stadium, a result that extended our unbeaten league run to five matches. The target is clear: stretch that run to six, secure a fourth successive league win, and claim a second consecutive away victory.

Having remained unbeaten on the road this season, despite demanding trips to SC Villa, Mbarara City FC, BUL FC and URA FC, our focus will be on maintaining that impressive record as the league campaign continues to gather momentum.
UPDF FC under the microscope
UPDF FC come into Wednesday’s encounter seeking stability and a much-needed boost in form as they attempt to make better use of home advantage in Bombo. While the Army side has shown flashes of quality this season, consistency has proved elusive, particularly against teams enjoying strong recent runs.
The Lion Army currently sit 13th on the league table with 11 points, just one point above the relegation zone, and have managed only one win in their last five fixtures.
Historically, this fixture has been tightly contested. Meetings between UPDF FC and Entebbe UPPC FC (formerly Gaddafi FC) have often been decided by fine margins, with neither side enjoying prolonged dominance. The last six encounters have produced three draws and narrow scorelines, underlining the competitive nature of this matchup.
Playing at home, UPDF will aim to impose physicality and structure, while drawing motivation from their supporters as they look to halt the Printers’ impressive run.
Talking Tactics
Confidence remains high within our camp following the win over URA FC, and much of that optimism is driven by the red-hot form of Ambrose Kigozi. The club’s talisman once again proved decisive at Nakivubo, scoring a brilliant winner to move joint-top of the league’s scoring charts with six goals, all coming in his last seven appearances.

The hitman has now failed to score in just one of his last five league outings, underlining his importance as he continues to lead the line with authority. Kigozi will be eager to maintain his push for the Golden Boot and could once again prove decisive in what is expected to be a tightly contested affair.
Tactically, we are likely to maintain the defensive discipline and compact structure that has defined our away performances this season, while looking to exploit transitions with purpose. Managing second balls and sustaining concentration across the full 90 minutes will be crucial against a UPDF side that often favours a direct approach.
On the injury front, we travel to Bombo with an almost fully fit squad. Midfielder Isat Emmanuel remains the only notable absentee, with the rest of the squad available for selection.
