Heading into Match Day 27, Gaddafi sat on 46 points and Blacks Power on 45 — setting the stage for a tense showdown where victory would all but seal top-flight qualification.
With promotion within reach, Gaddafi drew strong support at a fully packed Works Play Ground following an effective mobilisation campaign. The hosts were determined to capitalise on home advantage in this crucial fixture.

Blacks Power’s Oonyu Paul was booked for a reckless foul on Ssseninde, and 10 minutes later, he received a second yellow for a late challenge on Bithum, reducing the visitors to ten men in the 35th minute.
