Gaddafi FC Held to 1-1 Draw by Resilient Kiyinda Boys

13th March 2025, Entebbe Works Playground: Gaddafi FC was forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at home against Kiyinda Boys in a tightly contested fixture. Despite dominating the game and creating multiple scoring opportunities, the hosts could not find a late winner as Kiyinda’s defense held firm.

The visitors took the lead in the 19th minute after a costly mistake by Gaddafi’s goalkeeper, Ssekeba, gifted them an easy goal. Despite relentless attacking waves from the home side, Kiyinda held onto their advantage until halftime.

Gaddafi FC came out strong in the second half and quickly leveled the score. A deep long ball from Matovu Farouk troubled the Kiyinda defense, and a failed clearance by their goalkeeper allowed the ever-alert striker, Kasirye, to capitalize, slotting the ball into an empty net just seconds after the restart.

Looking for a win, Gaddafi introduced Bithum, Mbula, and Cornelius to add more firepower to the attack. However, despite sustained pressure, the visitors remained resolute in defense, frustrating the hosts and ensuring they walked away with a hard-fought point.

The result leaves Gaddafi FC reflecting on missed opportunities, but there were positives to take from their dominant display. The team will now shift their focus to their next fixture as they aim to return to winning ways.

The result means we slip into 3rd following Buhimba Saints win over Paidha. Our next game is against Kitara FC at home in the Stanbic Uganda Cup on a yet to be confirmed date between 17th and 21st March 2025.
