Entebbe UPPC FC made a dream start to the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season, defeating defending champions Vipers SC 1–0 at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
The victory marked a historic milestone for The Printers, who secured their first competitive win over Vipers and scored against the champions for the first time in a competitive fixture.
Having sharpened their preparations through the FUFA Super 8 and other pre-season matches, UPPC approached the season opener with confidence, while Vipers came into the encounter having recently featured in the CECAFA Kagame Cup.

The Game
The hosts started brightly, creating early opportunities through Mulongo and Chukuma, but UPPC remained composed and gradually grew into the contest.
The Printers created their first notable opening through Ibrahim Orit, who received a through ball from Kokolo Reich Triomphe, only for his effort from the left side to be blocked.
UPPC broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute. Thomas Ochungo delivered a dangerous cross into the Vipers penalty area, and in attempting to clear the ball, Dasylva inadvertently turned it into his own net.
We came close to doubling the advantage when the Vipers goalkeeper failed to deal cleanly with Kokolo’s effort, but Orit was unable to capitalise on the loose ball.
The second half remained tightly contested, with Vipers searching for an equaliser while The Printers defended their advantage with discipline and determination.
The final whistle confirmed a famous opening-day victory for UPPC.
The result gives The Printers valuable momentum as they begin their second season in the Uganda Premier League.
