Entebbe UPPC FC suffered a 2–0 defeat to SC Villa at the Fisheries Ground on Saturday afternoon, with defensive lapses proving costly against a well-organized Villa side. Played under clear sunny skies in Bugonga, the visitors capitalized on key moments in the first half to claim all three points despite a spirited effort from the hosts.

The Printers were still without Amayo and Kawawa, who remain sidelined as they continue recovering from injuries.

Starting XI:
Omedwa, Odongo, Mukiibi, Mujuzi, Kiryowa, Bugembe, Tusubira, Laban Tibiita, Munguchi, Sadick, Kigozi.

First Half

Villa started brightly, displaying sharp positioning, tidy link-up play and impressive passing accuracy. Their early pressure paid off in the 11th minute when they broke the deadlock.

Kakande chased down an overhit cross on the left flank and kept the ball alive before delivering another searching ball into the box. Ssebuufu rose above Mujuzi in an aerial duel and guided a header into the far corner to give the visitors the lead.

The Joggos doubled their advantage later in the half following a slick passing move involving four players. The move ended with Najib firing a powerful shot into the near post to make it 2–0.

UPPC gradually grew into the game but Villa remained dangerous on the counterattack. One such break nearly resulted in a third goal when the visitors struck the woodwork before halftime.

Midway through the first half, coach Abdallah introduced Nsubuga in place of Sadick to inject more energy into the midfield.

UPPC’s best opportunity of the half fell to Kigozi, whose effort forced Villa goalkeeper Lukwago into an excellent stretching save.

Second Half

The hosts returned with renewed intent after the break and enjoyed greater control of possession. However, Villa remained disciplined defensively and continued to threaten on transitions.

Once again, Kigozi came closest for UPPC. Spotting Lukwago slightly off his line, the forward attempted an ambitious long-range effort that narrowly missed the target, passing just inches over the bar.

Despite sustained pressure in spells, UPPC could not find a way past the visitors’ resilient defense as Villa held on to secure the victory.
