Stanbic Uganda Cup | Round of 32 (52nd Edition)
Royals Stadium, Butema – Hoima
February 24, 2026
Our Stanbic Uganda Cup journey came to an end on Tuesday evening after a 2–0 defeat to Kitara FC at Royals Stadium in Hoima.
The Printers travelled to Butema to face familiar opposition, having edged the Royals 1–0 in December during a StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter at home, where Kokas’ decisive strike secured all three points.

Team News
Head Coach Abdallah handed a starting debut to new signing Nsubuga Samuel, who earned immediate inclusion in the XI following his recent arrival.
Starting XI:
Otim (GK), Mujuzi, Amayo, Mubiru, Odongo, Bugembe, Ssenyonjo, Nsubuga, Poloto, Munguchi, Kigozi.

First Half
The hosts adopted a direct long-ball approach, aimed at disrupting UPPC’s rhythm and limiting the visitors’ possession-based build-up. The tactic proved effective in the opening exchanges, with Kitara creating the more threatening opportunities.
The breakthrough came after a well-delivered cross into the box found Ssenkaaba unmarked, and he calmly tapped home to give the Royals the lead before the interval.

Second Half
Seeking a response, Coach Abdalla made a series of changes in intervals during the second half. Male, Bunjo, Chopla, and Sadick were introduced for Odongo, Bugembe, Munguchi, and Poloto respectively.
Despite the adjustments, Kitara tightened their shape, adopting a compact defensive structure that limited UPPC to few clear-cut opportunities in the final third.
Second Goal
The decisive moment originated from a long goal kick by the Kitara goalkeeper just beyond the center arc. In the aerial contest that followed, Ssenyonjo was adjudged to have been pushed as the ball broke forward. The loose ball fell kindly for Emmanuel Wasswa, who struck from the edge of the area to double the hosts’ advantage.
The second goal effectively sealed the tie and confirmed UPPC’s exit from the competition.
The result sees Kitara eliminate The Printers from the Stanbic Uganda Cup for the second consecutive season, having also knocked them out at the Round of 16 stage last year.

Attention now swiftly shifts to the league. Entebbe UPPC FC will return to Royals Stadium in just six days’ time to face Kitara FC again — this time in Matchday 18 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
An immediate opportunity for response awaits.
