The Printers returned to winning ways with a narrow but fully deserved 1–0 victory over Mbarara City FC on Tuesday evening in Bugonga, courtesy of another decisive delivery from Steven Munguchi and a composed finish from Ambrose Kigozi.

Team News & Starting XI
Entebbe UPPC came into the fixture without skipper Mustafa Mujuzi, who was suspended after accumulating three yellow cards. Kiryowa George stepped in to fill the void in central defence.

Kawawa remained sidelined as he continues his recovery from a knee injury. Bunjo earned a starting berth following his impressive performance against Express FC last weekend, replacing Ssenyonjo Hassan. Meanwhile, Kyeyune missed out after picking up a knock at Express, allowing Kokas to retain his place on the left flank.
Starting XI: Omedwa, Odongo, Mubiru, Kiryowa, Amayo, Bugembe, Bunjo, Kokas, Poloto, Munguchi, Kigozi.
First Half
The visitors began the brighter of the two sides and largely controlled the opening exchanges. Mbarara City enjoyed sustained spells of possession and created several promising moments, forcing the hosts to defend deep for much of the first half.

With Mujuzi absent, the centre-back pairing of Ahmed Amayo and Kiryowa was tested early but stood firm under pressure, showing composure and discipline.
Just before the break, the decisive moment arrived. Bunjo threaded a perfectly weighted pass into the path of Munguchi, who lifted his head and delivered an intelligent ball into the area. Kigozi Ambrose met it calmly, beating The Ankole Lions’ goalkeeper with a composed finish to send the home crowd into celebration.
It was Kigozi’s ninth league goal of the season, moving him to the top of the scoring charts. His strike proved the difference at halftime.
Second Half
Entebbe UPPC emerged from the interval more settled and assertive. The tempo increased, the midfield pressed higher, and the hosts sought a second goal to put the contest beyond doubt.
The clearest opportunity fell to Julius Poloto, whose well-executed lob beat the goalkeeper but crashed against the crossbar. It was a moment that nearly sealed the game.
Mbarara City continued to threaten sporadically, particularly through quick combinations around the box, but they were repeatedly repelled by a disciplined and well-organised defensive line.

Ten minutes into the second half, Tumwiine Fazil and Ssenyonjo Hassan were introduced for Kokas and Bunjo respectively, adding fresh energy and reinforcing control in midfield while maintaining attacking intent.
As the clock wound down, The Printers managed the game with maturity — circulating possession intelligently, limiting clear openings, and remaining dangerous on the counter until the final whistle.
What It Means
The victory lifts Entebbe UPPC to third place on the table with 34 points and extends their remarkable defensive run to nine consecutive clean sheets across all competitions — an extraordinary 810+ minutes without conceding.
Once again, Ambrose Kigozi proved decisive — a recurring theme in what continues to be a standout campaign for the league’s current top scorer.
What’s Next
Attention now turns to Matchday 18, as The Printers travel to Hoima to face Kitara FC at Royals Park Butema on 3rd March in what promises to be a crucial top-of-the-table encounter.
