Uganda Premier League – Match Day 2, 1st October 2025
Fisheries Ground, Bugonga – Entebbe

Entebbe UPPC FC secured their first-ever Uganda Premier League victory with a spirited 2–1 comeback win against Lugazi FC at the Fisheries Ground in Entebbe.

On a bright and sunny afternoon, both sides began evenly with few chances in the opening exchanges. The Printers were forced into an early change when defender Joel Male suffered a dislocated wrist following a fall, with Odongo coming on as his replacement.

Lugazi capitalised on a defensive lapse midway through the first half when Kyeyune’s misplaced back pass allowed the visitors to take the lead. Despite continued pressure, UPPC went into the break trailing 1–0.

Head Coach, Abdallah reshuffled after the restart, introducing Kawawa, Kokas, and Bunjo at the hour mark to inject energy and attacking drive. The changes quickly paid off. In the 68th minute, Bunjo delivered a precise corner which was met by Bugembe, who rose highest to head home the equaliser.

With momentum firmly in their favour, the hosts pressed for a winner. In the 78th minute, Bunjo showed quick thinking with a smart free-kick from midfield, releasing Odongo down the right flank. Odongo’s pinpoint cross found substitute Tumwiine unmarked in the box, and his header gave UPPC the lead, sending the home supporters into raptures.

The Printers held firm in the closing stages to register a historic first win in the Uganda Premier League.

Final Score: UPPC FC 2–1 Lugazi FC
