Entebbe Works Playground, 8th April 2025: Following a rainy morning in Entebbe, the Works playground was slightly slippery, setting the stage for an intense battle. The hosts got off to a dream start, taking the lead just 74 seconds after kickoff. Samuel Kawawa latched onto a delightful cross from Sseninde and calmly tapped the ball into the far post, sparking celebrations from the home crowd.

Onduparaka slowly grew into the game, preferring a long-ball approach, but Gaddafi’s defense stood resolute and composed under pressure. In the second half, tactical changes paid off. Substitute Jonathan Mbula, who came on for Kawawa, doubled the lead in the 77th minute with a composed finish after being set up by Davis Kasirye.

Coach Robert Mukasa immediately introduced Batiibwe Okello to reinforce the midfield, but a lapse in concentration nearly cost Gaddafi. Mbula lost possession in a dangerous area, and Onduparaka quickly pounced. A handball by Okello inside the box gifted the visitors a penalty, which Dominic Abonga converted in the 80th minute to make it 2–1.

Shortly after the restart, a worrying moment unfolded as Mbula dropped to the ground feeling unwell. Medics acted swiftly, rushing him to Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital via ambulance. Thankfully, he made a full recovery two hours later. Godfrey Ssekyewa replaced him as Gaddafi dug deep to defend their slender lead until the final whistle.

This victory lifts Gaddafi FC to 35 points, just two behind league leaders Blacks Power and one behind second-placed Buhimba Saints. As the promotion race heats up, next up is a crucial away fixture against Paidha Black Angels on April 13th — Gaddafi’s final trip to the West Nile this season. Kasirye, Kawawa, and Jonathan climb to 7 league goal contributions this season while 2 for Sseninde registers his second assist.
