Gaddafi FC Triumph Over Calvary FC Midigo to Secure Second Spot in UPL Promotion Push

We returned to winning way on Sunday with a commanding 2-0 victory over Calvary FC Midigo at Works Playground in Entebbe. A bright Sunday afternoon set the stage for a thrilling encounter, highlighted by the debut of Batiibwe Okello, fresh off his international duties with the Uganda Hippos at the AFCON U20.

The match began intensely, with Gaddafi FC eager to capitalize on home advantage. Forward Kasirye struck first, scoring in the 17th minute with a clinical shot reminiscent of his goal in the recent 1-1 draw with Kiyinda. Calvary put up a resilient fight, keeping the game close until substitute Ouke Patrick made an instant impact. Moments after coming on, he delivered a brilliant cross, allowing Kazibwe Daniel to head home in the 70th minute and double the lead.

The win marks our second victory of the season, lifting us to second place in the standings with eight points, just one point behind league leaders Booma FC. Kazibwe Daniel’s outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award, narrowly edging out Batiibwe Okello. Goalkeeper Ssekeba Muhammad was also recognized for securing a clean sheet, while assists by Ouke and Kalanda earned them well-deserved accolades as well.

Next up, we travel to Arua to face Onduparaka FC for Match Day 5, with ambitions high as they continue their push for promotion to the Uganda Premier League.
